Apologies for the late post. Been travelling last 2 days. The final major of the year has commenced so I’ll be giving a small preview as to what I expect to happen. Golf is unlike any other individual sport (ie tennis) where the odds are heavily skewed towards the top seeded players. Golf is not played under fixed conditions. Every course differs in length, green speed, grass type, grass length. The Open championship is the only major and one of only a handful of tournaments across the year played on links golf rotates around 9 courses. This year it will be at Royal Troon which has been lengthened substantially in recent years and the tournament odds are not influenced at all by previous winners: Last years Open champion Brian Harman is 95/1. The last winner at Troon Henrik Stenson is 710.0.
