Good evening valued subscriber

Up until now, what was billed as the best fight card in history tomorrow has taken a hit with 2 fighters being pulled due to illness. Martin Bakole replaces Daniel Dubois against Joseph Parker and Josh Padley (who?) replaces Floyd Schofield against Shakur Stevenson. A bit of blow from a trading standpoint since Dubois looked like a banker and would’ve made a further play on the KO market. There’s also little to no value in taking on Stevenson so will be side lining both fights.

Josh Buatsi v Callum Smith

Fight night kicks off with a good domestic dust up. Josh Buatsi on paper may be undefeated but has a light resume. His best wins to date are at domestic level where he scored point victories over Willie Hutchinson and Dan Azeez. He’s cleaned up at domestic level.

Callum Smith on the other hand has been world champion and has shared the ring with elite opposition. His power is also well touted. My issue is that he seems to be stuck between weights. He’s too big for super middleweight and his edge has been somewhat blunted at light heavy. Yes he’s scored 3 KO’s in his 4 bouts since moving up but they’ve been against no names. In his title bid against Beterbiev, he was battered pillar to post. Beterbiev showed no respect for Callums power as he walked him down, dropped him multiple times before Callums corner stopped the fight.
